How to Reach Darjeeling by Air, Railway and Roadways


Bagdogra is the nearest airport located at a distance of 94-96 kms from Darjeeling. The airport is connected by connecting flight to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Trivandrum and to all important cities of India. There is also direct flight to Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati. Once you reach Bagdogra, you will find plenty of cabs and taxi for Darjeeling.

NJP is the nearest Railway head to Darjeeling. From NJP you will find shared taxi as well as private taxi that connect to Darjeeling. NJP railway station is well connected by train from all the major cities of India like Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Chennai, Vanarasi, Mumbai, etc.

By Road

Darjeeling has well knit roadways system it was earlier connected by NH 55, but due to the massive landslide in NH 55 near Tindharia, there is alternative roads that connect Darjeeling to Siliguri and also to rest of India. The alternative routes are Pankahbari and recently built road of international standard Rohini. Darjeeling can also be reached by Mirik.
